“There is a lot of favouritism in my team”
A software developer told me a few days back.
In my whole life, I have listened to this complaint a number of times.
Do you know from whom?
From employees,
From team leaders,
From job seekers,
From classmates,
From nephews and niece,
From almost everyone!!
“Favoritism”
Before using this word, we should understand why will a person favour another one over us?
Are other employees bribing the manager?
Are other team leaders bribing the management?
Are other job seekers bribing the HRs?
Are other siblings bribing the parents?
And the list goes on…
Then, why aren’t you bribing anyone to become their favourite?
Ohh…I see you are the honest one!
I will tell you, why you are not anyone’s favourite.
Because you don’t believe in yourself.
Start trusting your potential and exploiting every bit of it.
Trust me, the favours will pour in.
Next time when you use the word “Favoritism”, remind yourself,
The “favourite” one attained someone’s trust with sheer hard work!
Never fight to take someone else’s credit by using such negative words!
